Praia Forte

Praia do Forte is located in the municipality of Mata de São João in Bahia, 80 kilometers from Salvador international airport.

German descendant Klaus Peters and a friend bought 30,000 hectares of forest in 1970, where they had coconut trees, rivers, beaches and a fishing village, which was ceded to the municipality of Mata de São João. The Enseada do Castelo condominium was a ruined building that gave rise to the name Praia do Forte.
After 10 years, in 1980, Klaus Peters became the sole owner of a wonderful area that has been preserved to this day, which led to the emergence of the first businesses in the region, such as inns and hotels.
